Identification:The carmine bee-eater has a dark blue-green forehead and crown, a black line through the eyes, and carmine plumage with a brownish tinge. The wings of the bee-eater are darker, and the tail feathers are elongated. The underparts (rump and undertail coverts) are bright carmine.

Reproduction:Bee-eaters form large breeding colonies into the tens of thousands. They burrow into the sandbanks to build their nests. Breeding takes place from March to June.
