Virginia shooting: 'Lone gunman dead at scene' after firing 'several shots' in law office
POLICE confirmed that the "active shooter" they were hunting has been killed, following gunfire in Falls Church, Virginia.
One person is believed to have been killed in the shooting.
Police are searching for an "active shooter".
Nearby offices and buildings have been evacuated near Gatehouse Road, in Falls Church.
The office block contains a daycare centre and children were reportedly inside the building when the shooting started.
There were no reports of injured children, according to police.
An area has been organised as a meeting point for anxious parents and children.

The shooter has now been confirmed by police as the person who died at the scene.
Fairfax Police Chief Roessler said in a statement: “I can confirm that the lone shooter is dead from what seems to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. We are thankful that this event did not create any other injuries to anyone in the building or community.
“The children in the daycare centre have been reunited with their parents.
“We do not yet know the identity of the gunman or the adult males motive.
“We received multiple 911 calls that there were several gunshots being fired by the deceased.
“The shooting took place and is isolated to a law office.”
